Privacy
Charmoire imports into your own Apple Photos library. There’s no Charmoire account, media server, or analytics tracker.
Your files stay with you
The app reads the camera drive you select, prepares temporary copies locally, and imports them into Apple Photos. It does not upload your files to a Charmoire service. If you use iCloud Photos, Apple may sync your library according to your Photos settings. Charmoire does not request downloads of iCloud originals.
Local settings and history
Settings, camera access bookmarks, and import history are stored on your Mac. History includes file fingerprints and Photos identifiers to recognize previous imports. Your camera originals are not rewritten during import.
Local diagnostics
Charmoire keeps recent activity logs on your Mac to help troubleshoot problems. They contain app and macOS versions, event times, operation counts and error codes—not your photos or videos, filenames, camera or album names, or Photos identifiers.
Up to four log files are retained, using at most 2 MiB in total. Report a bug lets you find these files and copy our support address. You choose whether to share them; nothing is sent automatically.
Updates and this website
App update checks and downloads contact our release hosting services. Those services receive ordinary connection information, such as your IP address; update requests do not include media content.
This website has no analytics scripts, advertising trackers, or account forms. We count page requests, installer downloads, update downloads, and update checks in daily totals to understand interest in Charmoire. These totals are stored with Upstash for up to 365 days, grouped only by page or release. They contain no IP addresses, visitor identifiers, query strings, or individual browsing histories. We do not measure what you do inside the app.
Requests carrying Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals are excluded from these counts. Fonts are served directly by this site. Our website and download hosting providers handle ordinary server requests and may retain operational logs.
Permissions
Camera and photo library access are needed to import. Notifications are optional. Manage app permissions in macOS System Settings and camera access in Charmoire.
